This hotel has a great location in Bali (Kuta) and is a regular place that we stay for reasonably priced accommodation.
Prices starting at around $70pn
Toby and I will be staying in a villa near Waterbomb Park for the week of the wedding. Below are some hotels that are in that vicinity. Having said that though anywhere in Kuta, Tuban, Legian or Seminyak would be a suitable location.
Adhi Jaya Hotel
Grand Inna (opposite Sam's Bar :P)
Hard Rock Hotel
These are other options based on location alone, they range is price etc. I have not stayed in many of them, but am happy for people to post questions etc.
Remember we have the facebook group where you can let other guests and us know your travel plans!
As mentioned earlier my brother Josh is one of my best friends. I was a groomsmen in Josh's wedding a few years ago and will be so happy to have him standing up there with me on the big day.
Freeman has been one of my best friends since we met on my first day of school. We've been great friends right through even living with each other when I moved to Melbourne. We both have a deep passion for sports (both supporting Milwaukee Bucks) and love to beat each other at video games (mostly sports games). I always love being able to hang out with Freeman and will be grateful to have my bud standing there with me.
Elly and I (Ash) have become great friends in the last few years. We meet working at Kmart (we were the cool kids, until I got out and Elly decided to stay) and our common interests in basketball, teaching, food and drinking have pretty much meant that we spend most weekends doing one or all of the above mentioned things! She is one of the most amazing friends a girl could ask for and I feel priviledged to have her standing up with me on my wedding day as one of my best friends!
Alana was one of the first friends I (Ash) made when I started uni and she turned out to be a keeper! She came to my 18th birthday not long after we had met and that was it, she couldn't get rid of me after that!
Even though when she graduated uni she went back to Mildura we have still remained great friends and have been there for each other at all the most important moments (can't wait for Baby Barlow!)!
The Nolen's played a big part in Toby and I meeting and getting to where we are, so they will always hold a special place in our heart.
Last year I had the privilege of standing up with Alana as a bridesmaid when she married her man and I can't wait to have her standing with me when its my turn to marry my man.
The list of possible choices for Best Man for me started and ended with Rhys Ford. He has been my best friend basically from birth, and could pretty much be listed in the family section because we consider each other brothers.
Rhys and I always spent as much time with each other as possible as children talking and playing all day, and having sleep overs at each others houses.
Even though its much harder to catch up these days Rhys and I still try to spend heaps of time together, playing board games, video games and watching sports together.
Rhys will always be my best mate and I'm so excited to have him standing next to me as I move on to the next part of my life.
I (Ash) had the honour of being Kirsti's Maid of Honour in her wedding, so when it was my turn to choose my special lady Kirsti was my first and only choice.
Kirsti has been my 'person' my whole life. Our families were family friends and so we have known each other since birth. Kirsti and I are 6 months apart and have pretty much been involved in each others entire lives.
No matter what life throws at us we always seem to make it out the other side. Can't wait to have you standing by my side when I marry my man!

Joshua and me are very similiar in alot of ways. We both love sports, we have the same sense of humour, we look alike aswell. I would definitely describe Josh as one of my best friends, (even if early on he was my worst enemy) and I'm very grateful to have such a kind and fun brother that I can always rely on.
Zoe is always fun. She is always in a fun mood, always ready to laugh, sing or just be silly. She is the first person I would choose to go on a road trip with. Zoe has the great ability to lighten up a room with her kind spirit and her happy, silly (sometimes airheaded) ways.
There is always a love hate relationship between a brother and sister I think. Although probably more love on my side and hate on Mitch's since I do like to drive him crazy with questions. But ultimately he is my little fat boy (or martain) and we would do anything for each other! So proud of you little brother!
The troublesome twosome. Let's just say it is never dull when these two are around. They are always on hand to provide some kind of entertainment wanted or not!
Even though we have our moments they are adorable and they are likey to have me .. I mean I am lucky to have them, especially with the school insight they provide. :)
My Mum and Dad are two of the kindest, most loving people you will ever meet. I have them to thank for my sense of humour, my work ethic, my good looks, and so much more.
My Dad is my personal hero, and if I can end up close to as good a husband and father that he's been through my life then Ash and I will have a very happy life.
My Mum is amazing, she is always there to chat (whether you want to or not) and is always there for me, whether its just to cuddle or to take a photo of me crying in mud.
Their love and support throughout this whole wedding process has been amazing and Ash and myself are so thankful for them.
My mumzie and I have a special bond, we are like best friends (despite the huge age gap lol). We mostly enjoy the same things except gym (i dont enjoy that), being a gym junkie is not my thing.
I am so proud of you and everything you have achieved mum. I know that you are always there to give me honest feedback and advice, even if I don't want to hear it. You have always supported and guided me through life and I know that that will never change! Even though you say you want me to move out I know that you will be my number one visitor!
I can't wait to share my wedding day with you in our favourite part of the world!
I am so lucky to have been born into this family. The Macali's have family at the heart of everything and if they have taught me anything it's that family isn't necessarily defined by blood. Dad and Mel have opened their door and heart to so many and I can't wait for Toby and I to have own house and apply these same principles to our own life.
No matter what happens I know that we will always be there to support each other, laugh at dad's bad jokes, argue about stupid things, annoy each other and be one of the biggest drinking families I know! I wouldn't have it any other way!
I can't wait to have you walking me down the aisle dad, just another special occassion to add to the memory bank.
Toby had planned to propose in a hot air balloon over the Barossa Valley. Unfortantely it was cancelled due to bad weather, so he had to change his plan.
We headed to McLaren Vale and decided to stop at some breweries and wineries. First we went to Goodieson Brewery so that Toby could drink some beers for some extra courage.
After that we went to a winery called Penny's Hill Cellar and it was Ashleigh's turn to have some drinks. We then went outside for some lunch in a nice little shed dining area and after we had eaten, it was time.
Ashleigh closed her eyes while Toby ran to the car to grab the ring and the basketball jerseys and placed the jerseys infront of her. When Ashleigh opened her eyes she saw a white jersey that said Bride and a black jersey that said Groom and Toby was at her side on one knee with with the ring in his hands. After asking 'What are you doing?' about ten times (through tears) Ashleigh finally said 'YES!'
We got a lemon meringue pie to celebrate.
How we met, well we both have different versions of how that went down. The bits that we do agree on are that we met in Mildura at Andrew Nolen's 21st birthday. Toby had just moved to Melbourne and was back in MIldura for the party. Ashleigh was great friends with Andrew's sister Alana and so she had made the journey down to Mildura for the party as well.
After this we had our first date in Melbourne at a cafe in DeGraves lane for breakfast. Followed by a walk in the Queens Victorian Gardens before Toby headed off to work.
Fast forward 3 years and here we are!
I was born and raised in country Victoria in the town of Mildura, my parents were also raised in Mildura. My Dad is a Community Care Manager and my Mum is an Administration officer. I am the Youngest of 3 children with an older brother Josh and an older sister Zoe, they are both teachers.
After highschool I went to University in Adelaide for a year, before deciding that Uni sucks and that I wanted to travel. I then spent 6 months traveling around America and Europe (mainly just Britain). This was a really fun and eye opening experience and when I got back i decided to move to Melbourne and start working towards becoming a Tour Guide. I am now working as driver Guide for Bunyip Tours, heading down to great places like the Great Ocean Road and Phillip Island.
I love watching sports! AFL, NFL, NBA and whatever other team sports happen to be on the television keep me entertained for alot of my spare time. I also like to play playstation (too much if you ask Ash) and play a wide variety of games there, sometimes playing alongside my mates (and my brother if he hurrys up and gets a playstation) online. I also get out of the house and play Netball once a week which is loads of fun.
I was born and raised in the north of Melbourne in the nice little suburb of Mill Park. My mum,Jenny, is a self employed mortgage broker (this might be good promotion! Get around Johnson Financial Services people!) and my dad is a wine rep for Casella Family Brands. I am the oldest Macali child, I have a brother Mitchell who is an accountant and twin brother and sister Jackson and Maddison on my dad's side.
After finishing high school I went to La Trobe Uni and studied teaching (lets just say it wasn't the only course I was enrolled in, but it's the one I stuck with!). After I graduated I was lucky enough to get a teaching position at Point Cook College (a job I love) teaching cheeky little munchkins!
In my spare time, which there isn't much of I enjoy eating, drinking and socialising with my friends. My other interest is basketball, it was a big part of my life growing up and is still something I love doing. Go the Screaming Hamburgers!
We've had a few people ask about the location of the wedding and trying to stay close. The wedding is in Jimbarin so we reccommend just travelling their for the wedding (transport can be easily organised) and then travelling back to Kuta (Legian or Seminyak).
Our driver/friend Putu is really good and will be able to coordinate travel for you on the day as well as for other day trips etc if you need. You can contact him on facebook via this link Putu.
We have created a facebook group specifically for our wedding guests who may want to post questions about Bali and who would like to recieve notifications about cheap flights etc. This might also be a good forum for people to share their experiences/bali plans.
Please click this link if you would like to join the group.
